
HELLO
My name is Luka, and I am a Junior Level Designer at Futuregames. I have prior education experience in game design at Sacred Heart University. I have also recently become an alumnus of Uppsala University with a Bachelor of Arts in Game Design and a minor in Graphics. My passion for game levels started when I was 13 years old, playing around in the Far Cry 3 Level editor, where I created all types of levels and player experiences. Back then, many of my favourite games had developer videos showing sneak peeks at how they were made.
Ever since then, I have been hooked on game development. My other passion for game environments comes from traveling and having had the privilege of living in seven countries around the globe. I have a keen eye and appreciation for the small details that quickly add up to the final design of the levels.
My experiences have expanded my creativity and understanding of different cultures, some of which I incorporate into my designs. I thrive in a team environment and am eager to continuously learn and improve. I have worked on many game projects during my education, from being an environmental artist to leading large teams, but what I specialise in is being a Level Designer.
As a level designer, I strive for natural-feeling player guidance. I enjoy leveraging architectural and environmental elements to create a seamless, organic flow within my levels. I value precision and clear design communication, always trying to maintain detailed level design documentation throughout my work. With all that said what I enjoy the most is making fun levels. I also have a keen eye for lighting, and even have written a thesis on Level design and lighting.
In my free time I enjoy creating realistic plastic scale models, RC models, and working on anything computer related. All my friends, family and strangers know me as their tech support whether I like it or not. With my natural problem solving skills I enjoy helping others to solve complex problems and sometimes user error. I want to leverage my past experiences and design thinking skills into a position as a Junior Level designer. All of this to say, all that I am through my passions and talents, has led me to pursue what I love most.
